About the Author
Christine Keighery (who also writes as Chrissie Perry) is the author of more than 35 books for children and young adults. Christine wrote 13 books in the hugely commercially successful Go Girl! series for children 6+ (Hardie Grant Childrenβs Publishing). These books have been published in ten countries. Her young adult title, Whisper (Hardie Grant Childrenβs Publishing), was shortlisted for the Childrenβs Book Council of Australia Awards and the WA Premiers Awards and won an International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) and a White Raven award.
Β
In 2023, she released her first novel for adults, a psychological thriller, The Half Brother (Ultimo Press).
Thalia grew up on a farm on the outskirts of Melbourne with a mum who tried to save battery hens by on-selling them as backyard chickens. Her dad worked as an industrial chemist while also growing strawberries, carrots and Christmas trees on the farm. It was common for her to find plant shoots in the freezer, or the hair dryer missing because it was needed to heat one of her dadβs experiments.
Thalia's childhood showed her the magic that can happen when science and nature combine with human creativity. She has written over twenty books for children and teenagers, including the popular Go Girl! series, with many released into countries around the world. Her latest release is the Lifespan of StarlightΒ trilogy, which was a finalist in the Sara Douglass Book Series Award.
Β
Rowan McAuley has wanted to be a writer since she spent an afternoon in her bedroom, lost readingΒ James and the Giant Peach,Β when she was just about the age of a Go Girl! reader.Β
Rowan grew up in suburban Sydney, riding bikes and playing at the park with the sorts of kids that end up somewhere in the stories she writes.Β She has since moved to Armidale in the northern inland of NSW, and prefers winter to summer, dogs to cats, and running to swimming.Β She has written over twenty books, and some of them have been sold into other countries around the world including Brazil, the USA, Canada, Turkey, Italy, Germany and China.
As well as writing, she loves teaching creative writing to kids and adults, and works part of each week in community mental health support.
Meredith Badger is the author of many best-selling books includingΒ Dragon GirlsΒ (co-authored as Maddy Mara),Β Shift,Β Fairy School Drop-Out, and titles in hit seriesΒ Go GirlΒ andΒ Zac Power.
