Genaro Strobel (Bilingual edition) showcases the unique artistic process of Genaro Strobel, who creates monumental works on paper using a specialised printing method he developed. This technique begins with the traditional woodcut but extends to incorporate photography, painting, drawing, and collage.

The medium of wood becomes the content itself. Printing blocks are fashioned from commercially available types of veneer wood using precision lasers based on computer-generated templates. Through this method, the wood grain in the compositions is not merely reproduced but visibly imprinted, providing a distinctive texture. In some areas, even the source photographs, like images from an inventors' fair or the Messel pit, are discernible through the layers.

Strobel's work is characterised by an acute sense of large-scale compositions, continually introducing new colours. This publication collects a selection of his unique pieces, which are impressively large, ranging from four to ten metres high and up to seven metres wide. These works are currently exhibited at the Kunsthalle Darmstadt.
