Future Care, with a foreword by Siddhartha Mukherjee, is penned by a renowned cardiologist and Harvard professor. The book details the impending digital shift in medicine and its impact not only on patients and healthcare professionals but on all of humanity.

In this visionary work, future care is described as virtual care: sensor-aided, digitally enabled, and powered by predictive analytics. Today, as is true for much of modern life, human organs are also being digitally monitored. Sensors are advancing towards helping us proactively gather the necessary information to predict and prevent disease. Combined with the medical worldโ€™s expanding focus on wellness and prevention, this digital revolution offers an opportunity to effectively monitor and address chronic diseasesโ€”a long-standing challenge for the healthcare system. This large-scale transition is poised to reshape the patient-physician relationship and significantly alter how hospitals and the business of medicine operate.

Dr. Singh delves into the rise of virtual care, the evolving role of sensors, and the influence of artificial intelligence in medicine and healthcare. He explores these themes through cutting-edge science, bold predictions, and patient stories. Sharing anecdotes from his own experience with COVID-19 and his medical practice, Dr. Singh illustrates that the success of the digital revolution in medicine hinges on our ability to understand and adapt to this changing landscape.

Future Care provides compelling insights into how healthcare can become sensible, affordable, and practical while highlighting the importance of collective participation in shaping the future of medicine. This book is an essential and timely contribution to the ongoing, increasingly urgent conversation about medicine, technology, and healthcare.
