Economics and the Left presents interviews with 24 leading progressive economists, whose life work has been dedicated to both interpreting the world and changing it for the better. They all deploy the technical tools of their trade—the “dismal science”—in various ways. Much more importantly, they are all people dedicated to the principles of egalitarianism, democracy, and ecological sanity.

About the Author
Robert Pollin is Distinguished University Professor of Economics and Co-Director of the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He is also the founder and President of PEAR (Pollin Energy and Retrofits), a green energy company operating throughout the United States. He is the co-author of Climate Crisis and the Global Green New Deal. He was selected by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the '100 Leading Global Thinkers for 2013.'
