This richly illustrated volume offers fresh perspectives on Renaissance and Baroque prints. Featuring over 100 outstanding works by artists such as Dürer, Rembrandt, and Goya, Creativity, Devotion, and Desire reveals how printmaking sparked imagination, deepened faith, and elicited desire, in the process becoming a sophisticated medium for mass communication and knowledge dissemination.

The volume's thematic focus reveals the striking ways prints shaped devotional practices, political critique, artistic self-promotion, and class- and gender-based identities in the pre-photographic world.
