From formerly neglected cats to pampered companions, Cat Portraits captures felines in all their enigmatic glory.
Notable photographer Dave Nazworthy turns his lens from models and street life toward our most mysterious domestic partners, revealing their quirks, elegance, and unguarded moments with a blend of intimacy and humour.
These portraits aren’t just pictures of cats—they’re windows into their complex personalities. Whether regal, mischievous, aloof, or affectionate, each photograph reminds us why cats have fascinated humans for centuries. Shot with Nazworthy’s signature eye for detail and atmosphere, the images elevate everyday encounters into timeless studies of character.
Perfect for cat lovers, art enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates the beauty in small gestures, Cat Portraits is both a celebration of the feline spirit and a meditation on the quiet companionship they bring into our lives.

About the Author
Dave Nazworthy is a photographer whose work explores the varied identities and personas of our time. His photographs have appeared in Maxim, Stern, and Salon; his work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide. Several of his photos appear in the artwork of Richard Prince. In recent years, his focus has shifted to cat photography, where he specializes in portraits of cats and kittens of all types. He lives in Los Angeles with his cat, Doris.
Lydia Lunch was the primary instigator of the No Wave Movement, and the focal point of the Cinema of Transgression. A musician, writer, and photographer, she exposes the dark underbelly of passion confronting the lusty demons whose struggle for power and control forever stalk the periphery of our collective obsessions. She is the author of Paradoxia and Will Work For Drugs.
Jesse Pearson is a writer and editor based in Los Angeles. From 2002 to 2010, he was editor-in-chief of Vice magazine, and in 2013 he launched the magazine Apology. He has contributed writing and interviews to numerous publications including the Los Angeles Times, Playboy, GQ, and Departures magazine, and is the host of the Apology podcast.
