What makes Aotearoa New Zealand one of the most picturesque countries in the world? Its striking landscape can range from the snow-capped alps to the breezy ocean in a few hundred kilometres, requiring a creative approach to home building that is responsive to the natural environment. This is a challenge skilfully accepted by contemporary architects inspired to create modern iterations of the barn, whare, and bach.

Weaving through dreamy and dramatic locations, including a crescent-moon-shaped bach in Tutukaka and a bivvy house inspired by a goldminer's hut overlooking Lake Wakatipu, Cape to Bluff features thirty exceptional houses. These houses celebrate the new dawn of New Zealand architecture that is at once self-assured, poetic, and sustainable.

'This book features 30 inspiring residential properties ranging from a crescent-moon-shaped bach to a rammed-earth house, many of which have never been photographed before. All are sustainable, dramatic, and self-assured.' Judy Pascoe, Belle

'Shot over a 10-year period, the beautiful tomeβ€”which again sees Simon Devitt team up with writer Andrea Stevens and graphic designer Luke Scottβ€”captures Aotearoa's eclectic landscapes from top to toe, and some of the most beautiful homes that adorn it.' Jamie Christian Desplaces, Verve
