Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

By Practice, by Invitation is part of the Design Practice Research at RMIT University, a longstanding programme exploring what venturous designers actually do when they design. It is the most enduring and sustained body of research in its field: empirical, evidence-based, and focused on highlighting evidence about design practice. This first Pink Book documents some of its past achievements, positioning it as a growing force worldwide with an expanding research programme in Asia, Oceania, and Europe.

The research creates two kinds of knowledge. One aspect explores the ways in which designers utilise their intelligence, particularly spatial intelligence, to construct the mental space required for their design practice. The other aspect uncovers how public behaviours are invented and employed to support design practice. Combined, this new knowledge constitutes the distinct contribution that this research makes to the field of design practice research.
