See moreArtificial intelligence is headline news with the launch of the latest ChatGPT and Google Bard. But when did we start making computers mimic the human mind? And what is the reality of the capabilities of AI now, and in the future?
Introducing all the most fascinating information about one of the most important and contentious developments in human technology (including the latest on generative AI/ChatGPT) and what we can expect to see in the future of this field.
Artificial Intelligence in Byte-sized Chunks by Dr Peter J. Bentley explores the intriguing world of artificial intelligence, now a common headline with the launch of the latest ChatGPT and Google Bard. But when did we start making computers mimic the human mind? What is the reality of AI's capabilities now, and what might the future hold?
AI has always stirred emotions, causing great excitement as well as concern. Since the advent of large language models like ChatGPT, the scope and capabilities of AI are poised to revolutionise our technology, for better or worse. AI can assist us in writing more effectively or in generating spectacular artwork. However, in the wrong hands, it can also create fake images and information that could damage our societies.
A new addition to the popular Bite-sized Chunks series, this expert-led book examines the evolution of AI from its modest beginnings in the 1950s to today's extraordinary AIs, which boast more neurons than the human brain. By focusing on specific AIs and their creators over the years, it illuminates the science and engineering behind each AI, discusses ethical issues, and delves into one of the most important and contentious developments in human technology. This includes the latest insights on generative AI and ChatGPT, as well as predictions for future advancements β all presented in short, accessible bite-sized chunks.
