_A Fight for Honour. A Quest for Revenge._ Paris, 1794. Revolutionary fervour has erupted into the Reign of Terror. A young man, Paul Courtney, hides in a crowd watching as the condemned are brought to the guillotine. Among them is Constance Courtney, Paul's mother. Her brutal execution is a sight that burns deeply into Paul's heart, compelling him to avoid the same fate at all costs and fulfil his promise to her – to survive, no matter what. Driven by this determination, Paul joins Napoleon's army, which takes him to Egypt. In a world ravaged by war and riddled with traitors, Paul must navigate treachery and battle to stay alive, despite insurmountable odds that challenge his morals and test his resolve. Cape Town, 1806. Adam Courtney has dedicated his life to the navy, always living in the shadow of his father, the illustrious Admiral Robert Courtney. However, his return to Nativity Bay is marked by devastation. He finds his family homestead destroyed and the Courtney family murdered, leaving Adam with a thirst for vengeance. Charged by his father with a solemn duty, Robert hands Adam the prized family heirloom, the Neptune sword, and makes him vow on its blade to pursue justice relentlessly. Adam's journey takes him from Cape Town to the vibrant, bustling city of Calcutta. Along the way, Adam uncovers shocking truths and realises that the enemy he seeks might be closer than he ever imagined.
