Another highlighted operation is Operation Frankton, where commandos undertook a perilous 100-mile journey upriver in canoes to Bordeaux to sabotage Axis shipping. Additionally, the book covers the joint British-American Operation Fortitude, in which a phantom US army equipped with inflatable tanks was stationed in Kent, successfully deceiving Hitler into believing that the D-Day landings would occur at Calais.
