About the Author

Tjuntjuntjara Remote Community School is located in the Tjuntjuntjara Community, home of the Spinifex people, located in the Great Victoria Desert in Western Australia. Ninti Pulka is the school motto, which in English means smart and strong. Yaltji Ngayuku Papa? was created by the following students: Thalia Brown-Baird, Zara Brown, William Coleman, Keiran Currie, Maylee Davies, TT Hogan, Jason Walker and Katrina Williams. About the workshop leaders: Stewart Ennis is a Scottish writer and photographer. His stories, plays, poems and pictures have appeared on a wide variety of pages, stages and platforms. He is currently studying for a PhD in creative writing with Curtin University in WA and the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Ange Leech is a community consultant, multimedia artist, and entrepreneur. She has been involved with the Tjuntjuntjara Community since 2012, during which time she has facilitated punu (wood carving) workshops for the remote Community school, and project managed a variety of multimedia animation projects with the acclaimed Milpa.
