About the Author
Matthieu Pinon is a former math and physics teacher who has been writing about Japanese pop culture since the 1990s in magazines such as Coyote Mag, AnimeLand, and Phosphore. He is the coauthor of A History of Modern Manga and 100 Years of Anime, both published by Insight Editions. He has a passion for presenting facets of Japanese life to the wider world to help others understand the customs of a country they may be unfamiliar with.
Philippe Bunel is credited as a contributor to a book about the Studio Ghibli founder, Hayao Miyazaki (Shades of a Work).
