Vox Machina returns to investigate a strange disappearance!

Hello! Is anybody home?

After the disappearance of Sir Fince, Vox Machina is tasked with investigating his whereabouts. After some poking and prodding, the team is led to a mysterious basement where dark forces loom. Meanwhile, Vax and Pike face off against a vicious chimera, putting both of their fighting skills to the test. The rest of the crew navigate an underground cavern in hopes of reuniting with the two.

It'll take the help of an unexpected ally to guide the members of Vox Machina to their next objective...the Clasp's headquarters.

The campaign continues with series IV of Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins, from the New York Times bestselling team of Jody Houser (Orphan Black, Stranger Things), Noah Hayes (The Avant-Guards), Diana Sousa (Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins, Mall Goth), and Ariana Maher (James Bond, Xena)!

About the Author

Jody Houser decided she wanted to be a writer at eight years old and never looked back. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Emerson College, where she completed her master's thesis in screenwriting and was a winner of the Rod Parker Fellowship for Playwriting. Now a New York Times bestselling and Eisner-nominated writer, Jody has penned stories for DC Comics (Mother Panic, Harley Quinn & Poison Ivy), Marvel Comics (Star Wars, Web of Black Widow), Dark Horse Comics (Stranger Things, Critical Role), Titan Comics (Doctor Who), IDW Publishing (Orphan Black, Star Trek), and Valiant Entertainment (Faith), among others. Southern born, west coast raised, Noah Hayes dabbled in aspirations of paleontology and geochemistry before realizing that he could make art instead, which was obviously the more sensible choice. Drawing on a childhood love of comics, he received his BFA in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design and has been doing art professionally for a variety of clients and projects over the last decade. In his spare time, Noah moonlights as a tabletop RPG player, video game enthusiast, fibrecraft amateur, and father to two large cats. Diana Sousa lives in Portugal, where she works as a comic book colorist, and as a freelance graphic designer doing layout for TTRPG books. In 2023 she was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Coloring for her work in several Critical Role projects with Dark Horse Comics. Ariana Maher (she/her) is a Brazilian-American letterer who has worked on quite a number of Critical Role comics, including Vox Machina Origins, Mighty Nein Origins and of course Tales of Exandria. Her greatest lettering challenge is telling the difference between Vex and Vax when reading comic book scripts, but she's getting better at it. Her beloved cat is Ames--named after the Ames Lettering Guide. If you're curious about lettering, you can find her at www.arianamaher.com
