About the Author
Peter Flueckiger is Professor of Japanese at Pomona College. His research focuses on literary theory and political and ethical philosophy in eighteenth-century Japan. He is the author of Imagining Harmony: Poetry, Empathy, and Community in Mid-Tokugawa Confucianism and Nativism (2011).
