Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
The Voices and Rooms of European Bioethics offers a comprehensive reflection on the diverse contributions to European bioethics across various disciplines, including philosophy, law, medicine, and the social sciences. The book contrasts European perspectives with the often dominant US views, enriching the field through cross-country and interdisciplinary comparison. Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

The Voices and Rooms of European Bioethics reflects on the many contributions made in and to European bioethics to date, across various locations, and from diverse disciplinary perspectives. The book advances understanding of the academic and social status of European bioethics, as it is supported and practised by various disciplines such as philosophy, law, medicine, and the social sciences, applied to a wide range of areas. The European focus offers a valuable counterbalance to the often prominent US understanding of bioethics.

The volume is divided into four parts. The first part contains reflections on bioethics in the past, present, and future, and also considers how comparisons between countries and disciplines can enrich bioethical discourse. The second part examines bioethics in specific locations and contexts, including policy, boardrooms and courtrooms, studios and virtual rooms, and society. The third part explores the translation of theories and concepts of bioethics into the clinical setting.
