"Another excellent addition to this superb series" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Real reader review
Charlie Hunter does not enjoy Christmas, particularly the endless rounds of cooking Christmas dinners. So, when Graeme Strickland, who is not only a Michelin-starred chef and egomaniac but also a friend, asks her to help out in a hotel restaurant in Edinburgh's New Town, she eagerly accepts. The job means covering temporarily for a sous chef position while Strickland, as a favour, provides cover for Charlie at the Old Forge Café.
Charlie is meant to be in Edinburgh for a fortnight. However, her plans change when she arrives to find David Jenkins, the Head Chef and a long-time friend of Strickland's, being taken away on a stretcher. With the discovery of the poisoning, Charlie finds herself drawn into solving the mystery behind whether this was a tragic accident or a calculated murder.
