Murder in LaMut is the second novel in Raymond E. Feist's widely celebrated Riftwar collaboration, co-written with the talented Joel Rosenberg. This riveting fantasy tale seamlessly intertwines intense action, rich world-building, and nuanced characters. Set against the backdrop of Feist's best-loved series, the story plunges readers back into a mythical realm where danger and adventure lurk at every corner.

The narrative follows the seasoned mercenaries Durine, Kethol, and Pirojil, who have spent two decades embroiled in battles against a myriad of foes, from the formidable Tsurani to the relentless Bugs and cunning goblins. As seasoned warriors, they are used to the chaos of warfare, but they find themselves in need of respite as they run out of enemies to vanquish. When they are offered an assignment that promises to be straightforward—protecting a lady and her husband and escorting them safely to the city of LaMut—it appears to be the perfect break from their battle-weary lives.

However, this seemingly simple task quickly evolves into a complex and perilous mission. The prospect of cushy garrison duty dissolves as unexpected dangers emerge, testing the skills and loyalties of the trio. Durine stands ready with his lethal expertise, Kethol is adept at finding the right work, and Pirojil has an uncanny knack for negotiation. Together, they must navigate through a web of intrigue, hidden threats, and moral quandaries that challenge their every move.

Raymond E. Feist, renowned for his bestselling Riftwar Saga, the Serpentwar Saga, and the epic Krondor series, brings his masterful storytelling to this enthralling novel. Joel Rosenberg, famed for The Guardian of the Flame sequence as well as the D'Shai novels and the Keeper of the Hidden Ways series, complements Feist's narrative with his own unique flair and deep character development.

Murder in LaMut captures the essence of classic fantasy—vivid world-building, intricate plotlines, and characters sculpted with depth and authenticity. It's a must-read for fans of the genre and an engrossing addition to the Riftwar Universe.
