Local Government Engineers' Association
This bookcelebrates the first 100 years of the Local Government Engineers' Associationof NSW, a steadfast advocate for both its members and the broadercommunity.
Few can claim to affect the lives of every person in every community, but that is the legacy of local government engineers. Many saw service in both world wars and later used the diverse skills acquired in war in their peacetime council work.
Always fascinated by new technology, local government engineers have devised improved methods of road and bridge construction and taken on vital tasks such as providing reticulated water to rural communities. As well as facing the challenge of 'droughts and flooding rains', they have designed swimming pools and airports and been involved in town planning.
Local Government Engineers' Association celebrates the first 100 years of the Local Government Engineers' Association of NSW, a steadfast advocate for both its members and the broader community.
