About the Author

Pamela Allen has written and illustrated more than 30 picture books for children. Her books have won numerous awards, including Who Sank the Boat?, which won the Gaelyn Gordon Award in 2001, given by the New Zealand Book Council to recognise a book that has continued to be popular over a significant number of years. Pamela was awarded the Margaret Mahy Medal in 2004, and in 2005, she became a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her work in children's literature.
