Description
The Italian Wedding by Nicky Pellegrino weaves a captivating tale around the life of Pieta Martinelli, whose sister is about to walk down the aisle. As a bridal designer, Pieta is naturally tasked with creating the wedding gown. However, she finds herself preoccupied with a series of unresolved questions.
Why is her father involved in a longstanding feud with another Italian in their neighbourhood? What has caused her mother to become so faded and sad? And, much to her distress, is the man she's always secretly loved really about to marry someone else?
As Pieta meticulously stitches and adds beads to her sister's wedding gown, she begins to unearth the secrets that have shaped her family. These revelations could potentially stand between her and her chance at happiness.
The Italian Wedding is a feast of food and love. It is a story about discovering the true identities of your parents and determining who you truly aspire to be.
