Sunflowers Don't Grow in Winter
Ziggy decides to plant sunflower seeds in autumn, but everyone knows sunflowers don't grow in winter. Or do they? Sunflowers Don't Grow in Winter is a true story of hope, determination, and a little boy's love of sunflowers.
Sunflowers Don't Grow in Winter is a delightful tale of hope, determination, and a young boy's love of sunflowers. Ziggy decides to plant sunflowers in autumn, despite everyone knowing that sunflowers don't grow in winter. Or do they?
This true story offers an engaging narrative for children, inviting them to discover whether the impossible is possible.
Accompanying the story is an interactive "Search and Find" on each page, where children can look for the three B's: a bee, a butterfly, and a bird. At the back of the book, readers can learn how to grow their own sunflowers and explore the concept of how our thoughts are like seeds.
Targeted at ages 4 to 10, this book is the creation of Emily Holdaway, known for her widely celebrated New Zealand blog, Raising Ziggy. The illustrations are beautifully crafted by Craig Phillips, an international multi-award-winning illustrator.
