The last thing Hallie and her drama classmates expect to find on a high school scavenger hunt is a dead body. In a town with a population of about thirty-six, no one has experience with murder investigations, but now everyone’s asking who killed Ms Lovelace.
The drama kids thought they were the only people nerdy enough to be at school on a Sunday. When they learn that Adam Tolentino, football star, drama-club nemesis and the cutest boy in school, was there too, Hallie is given the task of finding out what he knows – but she soon learns there’s more to Adam than meets the eye.
Although still grieving her favourite teacher, Hallie knows the show must go on. Managing a musical and a murder investigation is a lot, but Hallie and her friends won’t give up on Ms Lovelace – or each other.
‘Musicals, murder, and the perfect amount of drama. What’s Murder Between Friends is a guaranteed page-turner.’ Tobias Madden, bestselling author of Anything But Fine
'Surprising and clever, What's Murder Between Friends kept me guessing to the very end.' Amy Doak, author of Eleanor Jones is Not a Murderer

About the Author
Meg Gatland-Veness is a high school drama teacher. She attended the University of Newcastle where she studied a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching.
Meg has been reading and writing stories for as long as she can remember. Equal to her love of words is her passion for championing local youths and fostering important conversation about issues facing young Australians today.
Meg was born in Milton, a small Australian town and now lives on the Central Coast of New South Wales. When she’s not writing novels, you’ll most likely find her at rehearsals for the latest show she’s directing or tending to her garden.
Meg is the author of I Had Such Friends (2018), which was shortlisted for the ABIA Small Publishers’ Children’s Book of the Year in 2019, When Only One (2022) and What’s Murder Between Friends (2024).
