Superstar comic author Brian Michael Bendis tells the gripping tale of the X-Men as fugitives on the run, in this thought-provoking and exciting era of Marvel's Mutants!
In the wake of the Phoenix event and Professor X's death, what are Cyclops and his outlaw X-Men—visionary revolutionaries or dangerous terrorists? Whatever the truth, Cyclops, Emma Frost, Magneto, and Magik are gathering new mutants and redefining the name Uncanny X-Men.
But they face harsh challenges—Robotic Sentinels hunt mutants once again, there's a mole on Cyclops' squad, and a villain is secretly posing as their former ally! As a new team of students forms, a weakened Magneto must prove he's still the Master of Magnetism, and Magik faces the evil Dormammu!
But while the original X-Men from the past chart their own new path in the present, what happens when the X-Men of the future arrive with a dire warning? Plus—Xavier's last will and testament! The X-Men vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.! And Scott Summers driven ever closer to the precipice of disaster!

About the Author
Award-winning comic-book creator Brian Michael Bendis is one of the most successful writers in the industry today. In addition to an acclaimed run on Daredevil, he has helmed a renaissance for Marvel's popular Avengers franchise and written the event projects House of M, Secret War, Secret Invasion, Siege, Age of Ultron and Civil War II. Bendis wrote every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man from its launch in 2000 before bringing his multiracial Spider-Man, Miles Morales, to the Marvel Universe for continuing adventures. He took on Marvel's mutants in the pages of All-New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, and launched Guardians of the Galaxy into the stratosphere. Bendis shook up the life of Tony Stark in Invincible Iron Man and related titles, introducing Riri Williams as Ironheart, and then assembled street-level heroes Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil and his co-creation Jessica Jones in Defenders. His creator-owned projects include Scarlet with Alex Maleev, Brilliant with Mark Bagley, and Takio and the Eisner Award-winning Powers with Michael Avon Oeming. Chris Bachalo spent the early years of his career collaborating with writer Neil Gaiman; his quirky style proved a perfect fit for the offbeat Sandman character Death in Death- The High Cost of Living and its sequel, Death- The Time of Your Life. His initial Marvel work on Generation X began a long association with the X-Universe across various titles that saw him become a fan-favorite artist for Marvel's mutants. Subsequently, he created Steampunk with Joe Kelly, and made forays into the Ultimate Universe and a big splash in the "Brand New Day" era of Amazing Spider-Man. His art has also graced the pages of New Avengers and the Dark Reign- Sinister Spider-Man limited series, as well as Marvel NOW!'s Uncanny X-Men. Bachalo helped reinvigorate Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme along with writer Jason Aaron on Doctor Strange. His subsequent work has included Deadpool and the high-octane, web-slinging action of Non-Stop Spider-Man. Artist Frazer Irving rose to prominence with the 2000 A.D. series "Necronauts." In addition to work for RPG companies and advertising agencies, his comic-book credits include Klarion the Witch Boy for DC, and Iron Man- The Inevitable and Silent War for Marvel. The versatile artist has illustrated characters as diverse as Batman, Skeletor and Garfield. Kris Anka began doing covers for Marvel on New Mutants and Age of Apocalypse. His career gained steam after providing costume designs for Storm, Psylocke and the other members of the Uncanny X-Force team, along with covers for the book. Since then, Anka has illustrated A+X, All-New X-Men Special, Uncanny X-Men, X-Men and Ms. Marvel. Anka's design skills made headlines with the announcement of his new look for Spider-Woman, while his flair for super-powered females made him the ideal artist for Captain Marvel.
