Description
The Weather in Africa by Martha Gellhorn comprises three novellas that explore the lives of Europeans amidst the dramatic landscape of East Africa.
Two sisters, one beautiful and one plain, return unmarried from their ventures in the great world to their parents' hotel, On The Mountain, where they become embroiled in scandalous relations with an African official and an English botanist.
In By The Sea, a heart-broken woman attempts to escape the memory of her son's death through a doomed holiday.
Meanwhile, a lonely, awkward young Englishman, who has become disoriented by years as a prisoner-of-war and orphaned by bombs in London, seeks a new life In The Highlands. It is there that he is transformed by his love for his Kenya farm and an African child.
