Joey and Riley
Joey and Riley is a touching tale about the bond between a boy and his dog. Joey lives on a farm with his mum, his grandad, and his best friend, Riley, a loyal working dog. Together, Joey and Riley are inseparable, sharing adventures throughout the day.
However, times are tough, and Joey and his mum must relocate to town for work opportunities. With the distance, Joey misses Riley terribly and clings to his grandad's letters to feel close to his best mate. The situation takes a heartbreaking turn when Grandad writes with the upsetting news that Riley has vanished during a big storm. Joey is shattered, but there is hope that things are not as bleak as they seem.
Mandy Foot's naturalistic illustrations beautifully capture Australian rural life, bringing the story to life with vivid imagery and heartfelt detail.
