One Little Bee

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

An interactive nature book for little children, showing the journey from a minute egg to a busy, buzzing bee.

Follow the astonishing journey of a worker bee as she grows from an egg to a hungry larva and then, hidden from view, transforms into a hard working bee. From the moment she chews her way out of her cell, she doesn't stop—first as a cleaner, builder, nanny, and guard bee, then as a honey producer and pollen collector.

This inventive title, with its cleverly designed holes, will spark interest on every page. Specially written for little children, it is perfect for a first introduction to the truly spectacular wonders of nature.

About the Author

Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio. Emma Allen was a trained speech pathologist, specialising in early childhood, before she returned to university to pursue a lifelong love of literature. The Terrible Suitcase won the 2013 CBCA Book of the Year: Early Childhood award. She writes from her Canberra home where she lives with her husband Richard and three young children Harriet, Rupert and Hazel.
