Bridgett Lisston, a new college graduate, finds herself uprooted from everything familiar to her, for her own safety. She leaves a lot behind but believes she's established herself out of harm's way. As she brushes off danger, she discovers that it knows no geographic boundaries.

With the support of real friends, she grows to know herself, and those around her. Throughout this intense journey, Bridgett draws on her positive upbringing. With her common sense, wit, and faith, she turns this fast-moving, suspenseful story into one of both determination and love.

A Beginning has been described by many as suspenseful, action-packed, a quick read, and purely entertaining. The author's unique direct writing style teases its readers to "just try to put the book down."
