From the bestselling author of Big Panda and Tiny Dragon, James Norbury brings readers on another enchanting journey in The Cat Who Taught Zen. This captivating tale invites readers to explore the mysteries of Zen through the experiences of a wise cat and a curious kitten. Their journey unfolds in the depths of a vibrant maple forest, where it is said that an ancient solitary pine holds infinite wisdom.

The story intricately weaves together the lives of various animals, each facing their own struggles and seeking enlightenment. Along the way, our feline protagonist encounters a diverse cast: an anxious monkey constantly fretting over the smallest troubles, a tortoise who has grown weary of the burdens of life, a tiger wrestling with deep-seated anger, a wolf cub confused and lost, and a crow consumed by covetous desires.

Each animal they meet shares unique stories and imparts valuable lessons, accentuating the themes of friendship, self-discovery, and personal growth. Through these interactions, the wise cat gains deeper insights into the nature of existence and the essence of Zen.

Everything changes, however, with the unexpected arrival of a playful kitten. This seemingly simple encounter challenges the wise cat to question his understanding and offers a fresh perspective on life’s complexities. The kitten’s innocent curiosity and boundless energy breathe new life into the narrative, pushing the cat towards profound realisations.

The Cat Who Taught Zen is more than just a journey; it's a reflection on life’s most important lessons conveyed through beautifully illustrated passages and heartwarming dialogues. This book is a serene yet thought-provoking read for those seeking tranquility and wisdom in their everyday lives.
