Midoriya inherits the superpower of the world’s greatest hero, but greatness won’t come easy.
In My Hero Academia, Vol. 23, the intensity reaches new heights as the students of U.A. High School continue their rigorous training to become professional heroes. Midoriya Izuku, blessed—or perhaps burdened—with the powerful Quirk known as One For All, is put to the test in a battle training session between Class A and Class B. As both classes push their limits, they must strategise, adapt, and outsmart each other to claim victory.
The tension escalates when Midoriya falls under the influence of Shinso Hitoshi's mind control, plunging him into an eerie fugue state. Within this altered consciousness, Midoriya encounters one of the previous wielders of One For All. Kohei Horikoshi was born in Aichi, Japan, in 1986. He received a Tezuka Award Honorable Mention in 2006, and following the publication of several short stories in Akamaru Jump, his first serialized work in Weekly Shonen Jump was Oumagadoki Zoo in 2010.
