Midoriya inherits the superpower of the world’s greatest hero, but greatness won’t come easy.
My Hero Academia, Vol. 13 continues the thrilling story of Midoriya Izuku and his classmates at U.A. High School as they train to become the next generation of heroes. In a world where 80 percent of the population possesses unique abilities known as Quirks, heroes are in constant battle against villains to protect society. However, Midoriya was one of the rare few born without a Quirk, until his encounter with the legendary hero All Might changed everything.
Having inherited All Might’s powerful Quirk, One For All, Midoriya's journey is anything but easy. He must learn to master this immense power while facing the challenges and trials posed by rival schools and dangerous villains.
In this volume, the students of Class 1-A face their next big challenge: the Provisional Licensing Exam. This exam is a crucial step toward becoming pro heroes, and it pushes Midoriya and his classmates to their limits. After successfully navigating the first part of the test, they advance to the next phase, which takes place in a simulated disaster area.
The goal is to rescue as many victims as possible, but this task is complicated by the fierce and ever-present competition from students of rival schools, particularly Shiketsu High. Although they are meant to cooperate, the intense rivalry often makes collaboration difficult and even perilous. Added to this, the presence of real villains amidst the chaos necessitates quick thinking and innovative team strategies from the U.A. students.
As Midoriya and his friends strive to prove their worth, the importance of unity, bravery, and the spirit of heroism come to the forefront. Readers will be drawn into the escalating tension and the dynamic interactions between the characters, making it an exhilarating read from start to finish.

About the Author
Kohei Horikoshi was born in Aichi, Japan, in 1986. He received a Tezuka Award Honorable Mention in 2006, and following the publication of several short stories in Akamaru Jump, his first serialized work in Weekly Shonen Jump was Oumagadoki Zoo in 2010. My Hero Academia is his third series in Weekly Shonen Jump.
