DescriptionBerserk Deluxe Volume 11, crafted by the acclaimed mangaka Kentaro Miura, continues the gripping saga that redefined the adult horror genre. This deluxe oversized hardcover edition is a must-have for those who cherish intricate storytelling and breathtaking artistry.
In this volume, we join Guts, the enigmatic Black Swordsman, and his ragtag group of companions as they attempt to set sail from the coastal city of Vritannis. Their journey is far from simple, however, as a formidable army of grotesque creatures—under the command of a powerful Kushan sorcerer—stands in their path. The battle is intensified by the overwhelming presence of the supernatural, with the monstrous astral form of the malevolent Kushan Emperor poised to strike.
As Guts dons the cursed Berserker armor, a suit that enhances his strength but threatens to consume his very soul, the stakes have never been higher. Will even this mighty armour be enough to counteract the ferocious onslaught of these otherworldly adversaries? As Guts faces not only physical adversaries but also his own inner demons, readers are in for a narrative that explores themes of resilience, sacrifice, and the eternal struggle against darkness.
This volume collects Berserk Volumes 31 to 33 and offers fans an opportunity to immerse themselves in Miura's masterful illustrations, which continue to captivate with their detail and intensity. This deluxe edition also includes three fold-out colour posters, adding to its value as a collector's item and visual feast for enthusiasts of the series.
Berserk Deluxe Volume 11 is more than just a continuation of the series; it is a testament to Kentaro Miura's inimitable storytelling prowess and a celebration of one of the most compelling narratives ever crafted in manga form. About the Author
While attending college at Nihon University, in 1988, Kentaro Miura debuted a 48-page manga known as Berserk Prototype, an introduction to the current Berserk fantasy world. It went on to win Miura a prize from the Comi Manga School. In 1989, after receiving a doctorate degree, Kentarou started a project titled King of Wolves based on a script by Buronson, writer of Hokuto no Ken (Fist Of The North Star). In 1990, the first volume Berserk was released with a relatively limited success. Miura again collaborated with Buronson on manga entitled Japan. Miura's fame grew after Berserk began "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of this masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary manga artists. In 1997, Miura supervised the production of 25 anime episodes of Berserk that aired in the same year on NTV. The series has also spawned a whole host of merchandise, both official and fan made, ranging from statues and action figures, to key rings, video games, and a trading card game. In 2002, Kentaro Miura received the second place in the Tezuka Osamu (Astro Boy) Cultural Prize of Excellence for Berserk.
