The Witch and the Vampire

The Witch and the Vampire by Francesca Flores is a tale of betrayal, survival, and rekindled emotions. Ava and Kaye used to be best friends. Everything changed two years ago when vampires shattered the magical barrier protecting their town. In the attack, Kaye's mother was killed, and Ava was turned into a vampire. Since then, Ava has been confined to her house. Her mother, Eugenia, needs Ava's witch powers to conceal her own vampire identity.

Desperate to escape her captivity, Ava seeks to reach the vampires in the forest and thwart her mother's plans for the town. During another attack, she finds an opportunity to escape.

Kaye, nearing the completion of her training as a Flame witch, is dedicated to the duty of eliminating any vampire threat to the town, which now includes Ava. On the night of Ava's escape, Kaye follows her, persuading Ava to travel together into the forest while secretly planning to betray her. Ava agrees, yearning to rekindle their friendship and her budding romantic feelings for Kaye from before that fateful night.

The forest, however, is fraught with dangers—monstrous trees that devour humans whole, vampires that attack from above, and Ava's stepfather hot on her trail. As they delve deeper into the woods, Kaye begins to question everything she thought she knew. Ava and Kaye find themselves as each other’s greatest threat—and also their only hope—if they hope to survive the treacherous journey through the forest.
