The Iron Will of Genie Lo

The Iron Will of Genie Lo follows Genie Lo, who thought she had her hands full last year balancing her academic life with the duty of protecting the Bay Area from demons. Now, elevated to the position of Heaven-appointed Guardian of California, she is tasked with the well-being of all yaoguai and spirits on Earth.

Her responsibilities become even more demanding when, during a long-weekend visit to a prestigious college, she receives terrible news about a cosmos-threatening force of destruction lurking in a nearby alternate dimension. Though the goddess Guanyin and Genie's boyfriend, Quentin Sun Wukong, do their best to assist, the crises of this magnitude are typically managed by the Jade Emperor. Unfortunately for Genie and the universe, he is nowhere to be found.

Frustrated by the Jade Emperor's negligence, Genie seizes the chance to reform the system for the better. She embarks on a quest that spans multiple planes of reality, accompanied by an adventuring party of contentious Chinese gods. Yet, when confronted with true peril, Genie and her allies come to realise that the key to saving the universe isn't strength, but sacrifice.
