A man telepathically visits other worlds while sitting in his apartment in the first full-length graphic novel from a cult cartoonist.
A solitary figure has telepathic encounters with a demonic aviatrix, a wandering crystalline being, a flaming sword-wielding warrior, and a mysterious sorceress, all within the confines of his own apartment.
Haven's work is dark, absurdist, and deadpan, reflecting the apocalyptic undercurrent of modern times. His inky, rubbery drawings buttress his black humour.
Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?
Praised by Booklist for its colourful, pugnacious style reminiscent of golden age comics and the droll wit of Glen Baxter, Vague Tales showcases Haven as a master of comics parody. Largehearted Boy highlights the bold, precise linework and the engagingly fantastic nature of the stories, which blend dark absurdity with striking visuals.
