Discover the Dragons
Discover the Dragons is a fun card game where you can put your memory skills to the test and learn about the diverse dragons of the world while you play.
Discover the Dragons by Emily Hawkins is an enchanting dragon matching game, perfect for providing delightful, screen-free entertainment for dragon fans of all ages. Can you reunite the dragons with their friends in this fun and easy-to-learn game?
The sturdy gift box contains 40 cards, each measuring 8.8 Γ 6.6 cm, alongside a 28-page booklet. The box itself is a convenient size of 10 Γ 14.4 Γ 4.7 cm. Within this game, you will encounter 20 diverse dragon species from all corners of the world, and your task is to match the pairs belonging to the same species.
Included is an illustrated booklet with game rules, fascinating dragon facts, and tips for finding them yourself. This beautiful new memory game is based on the popular gift book A Natural History of Dragons. It challenges players to match the rainbow-coloured Feathered Serpents and remember where a pair of Flits is hiding.
The cards feature naturalist illustrations of dragon species from different regions, such as the Australian Flamethrower, the Japanese Water Dragon, the Saharan Strangler, and the Western Woodstalker. The booklet serves as a field guide to the dragon species on the cards. Discover how the vegetarian Bumblelump (Draco tumbulus) uses its powerful front legs to dig its burrow home into hillsides. Learn about the Lindwyrm (Draco vermis), which does not breathe fire but can spit a foul-smelling venom causing blistering and blindness.
To play the game, arrange the cards face down on a table, then flip over two cards at a time. Do they show the same dragon species? If they do, you collect the pair. If not, try to remember their locations to make a match on your next turn.
The Folklore Field Guides series is a charming collection of beautifully illustrated handbooks that delve into topics of lore and legend. These guides are filled with fascinating facts and breathtaking illustrations, all presented in a captivating narrative form.
