About the Author
Dr Gareth Moore is the author of a wide range of brain-training and puzzle books for both children and adults. He is the creator of online brain training site www.BrainedUp.com and runs the daily puzzle website www.PuzzleMix.com. He gained his Ph.D from Cambridge University in the field of Machine Learning, and has contributed to various advanced projects for leading technology companies.
Sir John Tenniel (1820-1914) was an prominent illustrator and political cartoonist. An alumnus of the Royal Academy of Arts in London, he was knighted for artistic achievements in 1893, the first such honour ever bestowed on an illustrator. He was the principal cartoonist for the bestselling satirical magazine Punch and is also known for his illustrations of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There. Tenniel's detailed black-and-white drawings remain the definitive depiction of the Alicecharacters, with comic book illustrator and writer Bryan Talbot stating, "Carroll never describes the Mad Hatter: our image of him is pure Tenniel."
