About the Author

Denise Howard has earned regional, national, and international awards for her colored pencil drawings. She has been featured in Colored Pencil Magazine and Ann Kullbergs COLOR Magazine, has work published in several books, and is a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, the UK Colored Pencil Society, and the Pencil Art Society.Like many artists, Steven Pearce got his start at a very early age. His mother was an accomplished oil painter, and his father was an oil painter, sculptor, and master jeweler. Their encouragement and valuable knowledge helped Steven grow as an artist. Creating art with a pencil has been and continues to be Steven's passion. He enjoys experimenting with other media, including colored pencil, oil, and acrylics. Steven loves drawing portraits, still life, wildlife, landscapes, and anything that represents well in graphite and charcoal. www.srpearceart.comMia Tavonatti is an artist with a variety of interests, including a strong passion for painting and drawing. She moved from Michigan to California to attend art school at California State University, Long Beach, where she earned her BFA and MFA in illustration. She has also studied painting abroad, and she loves to spend her summers painting in Greece. Mia has exhibited her work extensively, both in Europe and throughout the United States. She is the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, and her work can be seen on more than 45 book covers and in several magazines. In addition to her illustrative work, she has created a number of murals and commissions for restaurants, private residences, and corporations. She teaches illustration and painting at the Art Institute of Southern California in Laguna Beach and currently resides in Costa Mesa, California.
