Blade Runner 2049: The Storyboards is the only book presenting all of the storyboards from the film. In 1982, film audiences experienced a bold new depiction of the future with the ground breaking Blade Runner, which was fundamental in establishing the still-vibrant Cyberpunk movement.

In 1982, film audiences experienced a bold new depiction of the future with the ground-breaking Blade Runner, which was fundamental in establishing the still-vibrant Cyberpunk movement.
With the critically acclaimed Blade Runner 2049, director Denis Villeneuve further explored that unique "future noir" world, this time following a young blade runner whose discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former blade runner Rick Deckardโthe protagonist of the first filmโwho's been missing for some thirty years.
Blade Runner 2049: The Storyboards is a celebration of the rarely-seen artwork that was key in building the harsh, yet strangely beautiful, environments in the film. This remarkable book presents a fresh look at Blade Runner 2049, including scenes that were later altered or cut out entirely, along with new, in-context commentary from storyboard artists Sam Hudecki and Darryl Henley throughout.

About the Author
Sam Hudecki was born in Toronto, Canada. Nurturing a love for photography, painting, and music, he decided to study film and literature at university. Visualizing the unseen became tactile practice by loading 16mm film mags on unusual cameras for documentary nature films. After a decade of working in art departments as a graphic designer and storyboard artist, he began his collaboration with Denis Villeneuve on Enemy and Prisoners. Heโs been captive ever since. A Chicago native, Darryl Henley graduated from Columbia College Chicago. He interned at a design firm, did a stint at an illustration studio, then moved to Los Angeles. There, he landed a position at the Davis Ball & Colombatto agency. Having had a great experience on two features when he first arrived in L.A., he decided in the early 90s to pursue film, which led him here.
