Born and raised in Baltimore City, Cory McCray is a Maryland State Senator and journeyman electrician whose journey from electrical apprentice to public servant demonstrates the transformative power of skilled trades and second chances. A proud graduate of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers apprenticeship program, McCray has leveraged his training to become a champion for working families and underserved communities. His leadership has driven over one hundred legislative wins focused on economic empowerment, public safety, and community revitalization. McCrayβs story has been featured in The Washington Post and on MSNBC and C-SPAN. He resides in Baltimore with his family, where he continues to serve as a voice for change.
