This Weekend Doesn't End Well for Anyone by Catherine Mack introduces us to Eleanor Dash, a woman who seems perpetually embroiled in murder plots. After navigating two real-life mysteries in the past year, both of which inconveniently occurred during her holidays, she's ready for a respite. Armed with a ticket to relaxation—a weekend at an all-inclusive resort in the Bahamas—Eleanor arrives for a speaking engagement at a murder mystery writers' conference, only to discover a body in her hotel room. Naturally, her break is interrupted once more.

With a cast of familiar faces at the resort, anyone could either be the victim's intended target or the mastermind behind the murder. Could it be Oliver Forrest, Eleanor's charming boyfriend whose publisher is threatening to drop him due to declining sales? Or Connor Smith, her aggravating ex-lover who's now a bestselling romantic comedy author with a murky past? Perhaps it's her sister Harper, who has long resented Eleanor's successful writing career? The island appears to be hosting a reunion of sorts, with friends, frenemies, and foes from Eleanor's past all in attendance.

Surrounded by mystery writers—experts in crafting the perfect crime—Eleanor is determined to solve the conundrum. She must uncover the truth behind the murder and ensure that she survives this ominous weekend.
