Ben Aaronovitch's 'Rivers of London' Set For Adaptation By See-Saw, Pure Fiction Television
Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! DescriptionCSI meets Harry Potter in this captivating graphic novel that continues the adventures in Ben Aaronovitch's bestselling Rivers of London series. Co-written by Andrew Cartmel, known for The Vinyl Detective, and talented writer Celeste Bronfman, this enthralling story weaves magic, mystery, and investigative prowess into a must-read tale.
Illustrations from a mysterious book of fairy tales, drawn in the late 1800s, come to life in the 21st Century causing unprecedented chaos. These enchanting illustrations were originally created by a Victorian artist named Jeter Day, who one fateful night vanished into an enchanted forest, spirited away by tree nymphs, never to be seen again.
However, the enchantment that held Jeter captive is accidentally broken by Olympia and Chelsea, daughters of the river goddess Mama Thames. Twisted by his prolonged time with the nymphs, Jeter returns to the modern world, bitter and resentful. He finds himself in a society he neither recognises nor likes, driven by a single wish—to reclaim the life that was taken from him, regardless of who stands in his way.
With the notable absence of Peter and Nightingale, who are preoccupied with another urgent case, the responsibility falls to sisters Olympia and Chelsea. Together with the help of the resourceful Foxes, they must navigate through the ensuing chaos, confront Jeter, and find a way to restore order.
In addition to its compelling narrative, Rivers of London: Deadly Ever After is renowned for its stunning artwork, breathing life into the whimsical yet dangerous world where modern-day London collides with magical heritage. This graphic novel beautifully enriches the lore of the Rivers of London series, and is set for adaptation by See-Saw Films and Pure Fiction Television, promising even broader horizons for its already dedicated fanbase.
With its unique blend of detective fiction and magical realism, this instalment is sure to captivate long-time followers of the series as well as new readers. Immerse yourself in a world where legends come alive, and the thin veil between reality and fantasy is brilliantly explored.
