DescriptionRivers of London: Here Be Dragons by Ben Aaronovitch, James Swallow, and Andrew Cartmel brings readers back to the heart of London's supernatural mysteries. This enthralling graphic novel takes you above the streets of the capital where myth and reality collide, and a dragon-like creature threatens the safety of the city.
When UFO sightings become rampant in London, a Metropolitan Police helicopter night patrol experiences a terrifying encounter with an enormous creature that can only be described as a dragon. Enter Peter Grant, a wizard in training, alongside his authoritative mentor, Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Nightingale, the Met's only sanctioned wizard. Tasked with unraveling this enigma, Peter and Thomas take to the skies, searching for answers amid a cauldron of human and magical forces.
As their investigation unfolds, Peter and Thomas find themselves ensnared between two factions of hunters - one human, the other fae. The trail leads them back to the tumultuous era of the late 1960s and a legendary London rock star, who once brokered an unfulfilled pact with the Demimonde. The stakes have never been higher as Peter faces the possibility of a battle with the last wyvern to protect London's skies.
Can Peter negotiate peace, or will he resort to destroying the fearsome creature? Rivers of London: Here Be Dragons is a riveting adventure that deftly combines elements of a police procedural with rich fantasy lore. The story's intertwining of past and present, along with its engaging characters, makes for a gripping narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
This graphic novel collects the critically acclaimed four-issue mini-series and is packed with exclusive bonus material. Fans will relish the script-to-art comparisons, an extensive covers gallery, and a collection of backup articles from the original comics.
