Book Hero Magic crafted this summary to help describe this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Summary
Feminist Theory by bell hooks challenges the contemporary feminist movement to redefine itself. Arguing that previous efforts have failed to form a broad anti-sexism movement due to overlooking diverse female experiences, hooks calls for a revolution in feminist thought that embraces marginalised voices. This updated edition includes a new preface by the author reflecting recent developments.

A sweeping examination of the core issues of sexual politics by one of feminism’s most important and critical voices

Book Hero Magic formatted this description to make it easier to read. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! Description

In this updated text of sexual politics, bell hooks argues that the contemporary feminist movement must establish a new direction for the future. A leading cultural critic, she contends that feminism has not succeeded in creating a mass movement against sexism because the foundation of the women's movement has not fully accounted for the complexity and diversity of female experience.

In order to fulfil its revolutionary potential, feminist theory must begin by consciously transforming its own definition to encompass the lives and ideas of women on the margin. This new edition includes an original preface by the author that brings it up to date.

Feminist Theory by bell hooks challenges the movement to broaden its scope and impact by integrating diverse female perspectives.

Book Hero Magic summarised reviews for this book. While it's new and still learning, it may not be perfect - your feedback is welcome! HOW HAS THIS BEEN REVIEWED?

Theory.org praises the book as "an intelligently critical, inclusive, personal and very accessible feminist polemic."
