See moreTeam Park introduces us to Evan Park, who has always struggled to gain his father's approval. However, when faced with an actual obstacle race, unexpected results unfold. This exciting middle-grade novel is from Angela Ahn, the author of the critically acclaimed Peter Lee's Notes from the Field.
Evan Park does not share his father's enthusiasm for team sports, despite his best efforts. After an accident leaves Evan with a broken wrist, he is determined to find an activity he can excel in on his own once he heals.
Inspired by his athletic physiotherapist, Evan sets his sights on the upcoming Dominator Ninja - Junior Edition competition. He views it as both part rehab and part fun. With dedicated training, Evan hopes to finally have a trophy to showcase in the family cabinet, which might just make his father proud.
Unfortunately, Evan's clumsiness gets the best of him again, and he reinjures his wrist. Competing in Dominator Ninja seems impossible now, especially when he can't even hold chopsticks. However, with encouragement from his sister, Evan begins to consider a family race that is focused more on the experience than winning.
Can Evan shift his perspective and rally his family to participate in this event together?
