When Jackie Pullinger set sail from England in 1966, she had no idea that God was calling her to the Walled City. Yet, as she spoke of Jesus Christ, brutal Triad gangsters were converted, prostitutes quit, and Jackie discovered a new treatment for drug addiction: baptism in the Holy Spirit.

About the Author

Jackie Pullinger (Author)

In 1966 Jackie Pullinger went to Hong Kong on a one-way ticket and arrived knowing no one with just $100 HK in her pocket. She lived and worked in Kowloon's notorious 'Walled City' and saw the remarkable power of God working in the lives of the marginalised. The work grew, and by 1981 Jackie had set up the St Stephen's Society, providing rehabilitation homes for recovering drug addicts, sex workers and gang members.

The charity's work has been recognized by the Hong Kong government who donated the land for the rehabilitation homes and thousands of people in Hong Kong and further afield have had their lives transformed in miraculous ways.

Jackie's story is told in her book Chasing the Dragon and she still lives in Hong Kong and runs the St Stephen's Society.
