About the Author

Amelie Boue has always been a keen observer of the world around her. She has a background in biology, and a deep passion for nature. After dedicating several years to the conservation of birds, she decided in 2016 to start her own small soap business; transforming what had been a hobby into a full-time occupation brought her immense joy. In her soap-making ventures, Amelie finds gratification in crafting tangible, practical products while nurturing her creative side. She takes great pleasure in sharing her interest and passion for soap-making by conducting workshops for both adults and children alike. Amelie's company, Savon en Bullant, is based in Rochefort, France.

When Emily Wilson's translation of The Odyssey appeared in 2017—revealing the ancient poem in a contemporary idiom that was "fresh, unpretentious and lean" (Madeline Miller, Washington Post)—critics lauded it as "a revelation" (Susan Chira, New York Times) and "a cultural landmark" (Charlotte Higgins, Guardian) that would forever change how Homer is read in English.
