About the Author

Alex Kelly works in Hampshire on the New Forest Community Learning Disability Health Team for adults with learning disabilities. She qualified from the Central School of Speech Drama in 1985 and has since worked predominantly with adults and children with learning disabilities. She is the author of the highly successful Talkabout (Speechmark, 1996) and Talkabout Activities (Speechmark, 2003). Alex also co-authored the Personal Communicaion Plan (PCP) in 1991, which has since been revised for inclusion in Working with Adults with a Learning Disability (Speechmark, 2000).
