The breathtaking new novel from the bestselling author of Girl A

“I couldn’t put this down” - Stacey Halls

Day One plunges readers into the aftermath of a chilling tragedy, weaving together multiple perspectives to unravel the truth behind a devastating event at a high school. The story centres around three primary narrators, each with their own motivations and secrets. The survivor, who fled the scene only to find herself ensnared in a web of deceit. The relentless journalist determined to transform the harrowing event into a sensational headline. And the enigmatic outsider, whose cryptic assertions cast doubt on the very reality of what transpired. As the truth unfolds piece by shocking piece, we are forced to question the reliability of memory, the power of media, and the very essence of truth itself.

What really happened on Day One?

Everyone has their own version of what occurred that fateful day at the school:

The survivor, who escaped but now finds herself imprisoned by her own lies.

The newspapers, hellbent on turning a tragedy into a spectacle.

The outsider, who emphatically claims it never truly happened at all...

In a world where everyone seeks the truth, who among them is prepared to face it?

As events spiral chaotically and conspiracies ignite, the true story is revealed, exposing gut-wrenching truths that lead to an agonisingly tender conclusion.
