In the wake of his retirement from professional basketball, Kobe Bryant, known globally as "The Black Mamba," takes readers on an unprecedented journey to the core of the legendary 'Mamba mentality.' Through The Mamba Mentality, Bryant offers an exclusive look into his profound understanding and approach to the game, aiming to guide young players, avid fans, and devoted students on how to play basketball "the right way." This book immerses readers into the mind of one of the most intelligent, analytical, and creative basketball players the world has ever seen.

For the first time, and in his own words, Bryant shares his famously meticulous approach to the game, revealing the steps he took to prepare both mentally and physically not just to succeed, but to excel. The narrative provides an insightful look into how Bryant studied his opponents, channelled his passion for basketball, and played through numerous injuries. Readers will delve into fascinating granular details as Bryant breaks down specific plays and match-ups from his storied career, offering a masterclass in the art and science of basketball.

Accompanying Bryant's captivating narrative are stunning photographs by Hall of Fame photographer Andrew D. Bernstein. As the official photographer for the Lakers and the NBA, Bernstein captured defining moments of Bryant's career, starting from his very first NBA photo in 1996 to his last in 2016. Bernstein's camera chronicled a unique, 20-year relationship between player and photographer, immortalising hundreds of thousands of images that punctuate Bryant's journey.

The combination of Bryant's insightful accounts and Bernstein's evocative photography creates a profound and visually striking experience. The Mamba Mentality is not merely a look behind the curtain at the career of one of the world's most celebrated athletes but also a testament to Kobe Bryant's enduring legacy and influence on the game of basketball. This book stands as an indispensable resource for anyone looking to understand what it truly means to possess the Mamba mentality.
